Explore is a shared space for published palettes. These are the rules that keep it useful.

Publish work, not noise

Publishing puts a palette in front of other people. Give it a name that describes it, and a description if there is something worth saying about how it should be used. Palettes named “asdf”, near-duplicates published in bulk, and anything published purely to advertise something else do not belong in Explore.

Credit is automatic — leave it alone

Remixing a public palette records the original creator on the server. That attribution cannot be edited or removed, and attempting to work around it (by re-typing someone else’s palette as your own, for instance) is treated as a violation.

Colour values themselves are not owned by anyone. Nobody owns “a blue and an orange”. What matters is not passing off someone else’s specific, named, published work as new.

Names and descriptions

Palette names, descriptions and profiles must not contain:

  • slurs, harassment, or content attacking people for who they are;
  • sexual content, or content aimed at exploiting anyone;
  • impersonation of a person, brand or organisation;
  • spam, referral links, or unrelated advertising;
  • anything unlawful.

Brand colours

Publishing a palette that reproduces a company’s brand colours is fine for reference and study. Presenting it as official, or using a brand name in a way that suggests endorsement, is not.

Accessibility

A published palette is not required to meet any contrast threshold. Plenty of legitimate design work does not, and Colorstruct will never block you from publishing one. What it will do is show the measurements honestly, so anyone considering your palette knows what they are getting.

Reporting

Signed-in users can report a palette from its page. Reports go to a moderation queue and are not shared with the person reported. Reporting the same thing repeatedly does not speed anything up — duplicate reports are collapsed.

Report things that break these guidelines. Disagreeing with someone’s taste in colour is not a reason to report them.

What happens after a report

  • Minor issues — the palette is unpublished and the creator can fix and republish it.
  • Clear violations — the content is removed.
  • Repeated or severe violations — the account is suspended.

If you disagree with a decision

Email moderation@colorstruct.app with the palette link. Decisions are reversed when they turn out to be wrong.
