Terms of use

Last updated .

The short version

Your palettes are yours. Publishing one lets other people view and remix it with credit to you. Do not upload things you have no right to, and do not abuse the service.

1. Agreement

Using Colorstruct means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised. Accounts may be suspended for breaches of these terms or the community guidelines.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the palettes, names, descriptions and other content you create. Colour values themselves are facts and are not owned by anyone.

By publishing a palette (making it public), you grant Colorstruct a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute it within the service, and you allow other users to view and remix it. This licence exists so the service can show your palette; it ends for future display when you unpublish or delete it.

Private, draft and unlisted palettes are not licensed for display beyond what you choose.

4. Remixing and attribution

Public palettes may be remixed. A remix records the source palette and its creator automatically, on the server; that attribution cannot be edited or removed by the person remixing. If you do not want your work remixed, keep it private or unlisted.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • publish content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or infringes someone else’s rights;
  • impersonate another person or organisation;
  • attempt to access data that is not yours, or probe or disrupt the service;
  • scrape, or use automated systems in a way that degrades the service for others;
  • circumvent rate limits or other technical protections.

6. Advertising

Colorstruct is free and supported by advertising. Ads are labelled and kept out of the working area. Blocking them is your choice and does not restrict access to any feature.

7. Availability and changes

The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. Features may change or be removed, and there is no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose — every palette can be exported at any time.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Colorstruct is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from use of the service.

Accessibility results are calculated with published WCAG 2.2 formulas and are accurate for what they measure. They are not a certification of conformance for any product you build, and automated results never replace testing with real users.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. Public palettes may be removed if they violate the community guidelines.

10. Changes to these terms

Material changes will be reflected in the date above and described here. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.
